I'm a journalist and a writer. At the moment, I write about Thailand and the many misfortunes--and some fortunes--of expats living here.
I have some expertise in the field, having lived and worked here since 1999. My expat blog, Thailand Insights, chronicles some of the struggles involved in being an expat among 65 million patriotic Thais. Keep in mind, though, that deep down we really love this country.
My life here has been a breeze since I learned to read and write Thai. I worked as a business advisor to other expats for a few years, and it became obvious that a number of my clients could have benefitted greatly from taking a year of language school before setting out to conquer Thailand. If you're unfamiliar with the strange Thai script, click on my portrait and you'll see some pictures.
I'm currently working on my second novel, which features one character from the first novel. Guess which one.

An overall theme of the series is the war on illegal and harmful drugs. Through the use of exciting stories, Dorothy is attempting to educate people on the dangers of using such drugs. An accompanying theme is acquaint readers with the host of problems attending the porous border between the US and Mexico, resulting in the importation of illegal immigrants, drugs, cartel violence and kidnapped women, as well as the deportation of jobs, arms and ammunition.
