Editor's Note: Here's chance for you to live out your rock n' roll dreams! Head to London for this YA music adventure.
Between dialect, characters, and an exciting plot, this book painted a vivid picture in my mind.
Book Description: BROKEN BIRDIE CHIRPIN is a fast-paced rock n' roll coming of age rollercoaster ride. A poorly adjusted, but gifted, teen journies through the London Music scene searching for his dreams.
Author's Inspiration: "My love of rock n' roll and my desire to mesh that love with a coming of age tale about some up-and-comers in the London music scene."
The main character would be played by: Some unknown actor waiting to be discovered.
From The Book: There exists an oasis where inspiration bursts forth like black gold from the fertile loam and every odd bellbird chirps a melody worth remembering. There's no bloody map or nautical chart that can deliver you there, but you know the instant you've arrived becuase you never want to depart.
This book is free 5/23-5/24.
Broken Birdie Chirpin is my first novel. It started as a simple concept but blossomed into something that I am very proud of. The novel's characters and their tale will be with me always. I hope someday that I might find such meaningful inspiration once again. I currently live in North Carolina with my wife and two children.
Favorite Food: My favorite food is pizza.
Favorite Place to Write: I am happy to write anywhere as long as I am inspired to do so.
Favorite Music to Listen to: I love rock n' roll music. The Kinks are a particular favorite.
Favorite TV Show: Lost is probably my favorite TV show, but I am more of a movie buff.
Editor's note: teen novels are all the rage these days, with best sellers like THE HUNGER GAMES and THE FAULT IN OUR STARS edging out the top charts. These two novels are geared towards young adults, but can be enjoyed by all ages!
Editor's Note: Sometimes love is worth breaking all the rules for.
It was thought provoking and very interesting. Before I knew it I had finished reading it!
Book Description: Phinn is a 16 year old immortal. An Angel responsible for taking the souls of good teens that die to Heaven. Mortals can't see him, so high school can be difficult for him. It gets even more difficult when a girl, a mortal girl, a girl Phinn really likes, notices him and lets him know she likes him. When he gets the call that she has killed herself, he breaks the rules and rushes her to the Pearly Gates. And then, all Hell breaks loose. THE BOOK OF PHINN is the first book in the Immortal Blog series.
Readers who love the Twilight Series or The Beautiful Creatures series will enjoy THE BOOK OF PHINN.
From the Book: Hey, Phinn here.
I'm an Angel. A 16 year old immortal. You don't know me. You've never seen me. Unless you're a dead teenager and you've been good and live in Southern California (narrows it down, huh?). If that's the case, we've probably met. See, I take the souls of good kids to Heaven, but I'm not allowed to interact with the living...which makes high school, being on the soccer team and writing for the school newspaper a little difficult. As an angel, I play by the rules.
My "arch-frenemy" Iszn, the demon who takes the bad kids to Hell, breaks all the rules...which is why he's one of the most popular kids in school. Iszn's hobbies are football, human girls, football, torturing me, football and evil....did I mention football?
Anyway, as an Angel I try not to have any direct contact with humans...well, that is until I met this girl. Actually, until she met me...it's kind of complicated. That's one of the reasons I write my blog...to let you guys in on a world you probably didn't even know existed...until it's too late, anyway.
But this world does exist, and it's about to get complicated. There are some deaths we can't explain and only Iszn and I seem to want to get to the bottom of them. It's going to cost us...a lot, but we can't let it go.
So ya, enjoy the blog...comment if you want. I read all the comments and try to respond. And don't let Iszn freak you out...to my knowledge, he's never actually eaten anyone's face.
Cya inside :)
This book is free 5/22-5/24.
Frank Anjakos lives in the Wild West, where he avoids writing about anything Western. Upon graduation from college in Michigan he was unwilling to get a real job, and so went to law school at the University of Arizona, where he studied listlessly, overcome by the desert heat, and obtained a law degree in the usual amount of time. After recovering from the stifling law school style of writing, he returned to his true passion, fiction…both writing and living it. Coerced by his son Finn, he turned away from adult science fiction and began writing children’s books. Now, if he could just get his son to actually read one.
I love to write, with my boy sitting by me, in a small coffee shop around the corner.
Editor's Note: Along the lines of the Twilight and Hunger Games series, THE CHOOSING is an action packed thrill ride beginning the Blood and Brotherhood Saga!
The Choosing is an engrossing story that will hold your attention from beginning to end!
Book Description: The Choosing is about a group of young adults thrust into a life that is not one of their own choosing. They are forced to overcome obstacles, perils, creatures, and injuries, but along the way learn a great deal about themselves. Thrust into lives of servitude it is when all hope seems to be lost that the small band of friends make some amazing discoveries about themselves and their pasts.
Those who enjoyed The Hunger Games and Twlight series will enjoy THE CHOOSING.
Author's Inspiration: After having read more than a thousand fantasy novels over the years I wanted to create on that was more complete than most I had personally read. In Thurr there is a reason for everything, a driving force behind each action. My vision of a fantasy world is one where anything is possible, but must have explanation.
Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: A little known or unknown actor
From the Book: Seth tracked the beast stealthily through the forest, carefully deciding each footfall. The rains had begun a week earlier, softening the loam and fallen leaves cushioning each step. Occasionally he would lose sight of the crafty creature behind brush or a large tree, though tracking it thus far had been easy enough. Several times he believed he had a shot but, unwilling to take it and miss, had not yet drawn his bow. Thus he crept silently stalking the beast, arrow knocked, waiting for the perfect shot that he feared would never come. Though it was late in the fall and leaves carpeted the forest floor, the canopy above him was vast and still blocked out much of the light. The scent of rain was heavy in the air and from time to time he could see a glimpse of the cloud-covered sky above. Darkness was nearing and with it yet another storm.

First and foremost I am a father and a husband. I work full time as a civilian employed by the US army, and have also been known as a welder, electrician, carpenter, roofer, writer, painter, CNC machinist, and amongst many other things a romantic. I also belong to the eternal fraternal brotherhood of the United States Marine Corps, having served 8 years that showed me a much broader perspective of the world at large serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, The war on Terrorism, and the humanitarian effort in Liberia.
I currently live in southern Louisiana with my wife and children, though I grew up in Michigan, graduating high school in Mason MI. I also spent time living in North Carolina, Florida, and California during my time in the United States Marine Corps. I have always dreamed of publishing my work, and seeing it on a bookshelf in a store, however with the huge shift to digital media I finally realized that the dream was in my own hands. I tell my children that they can live their dreams, and I believe in leading by example.
I enjoy writing across several different genres from poetry, to children's stories, to full epic fantasies. Creating new characters for my readers to connect with, new worlds for them to immerse themselves in, and new ideas to wrap their minds around is an amazing if not humbling experience. I hope that all my readers can take something away from each of my books, and enjoy reading them just as much as I have enjoyed putting them in print. Semper Fidelis

Author's Inspiration: The thought occurred to me out of the blue: what if the only way to save the world is to give up the one you love? Could you do it? Could you walk away from him if it meant saving all of us?
Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Alexis Bledel
From the Book: “Before anyone can speak, a boy pops out of thin air. Seriously. He came out of nowhere. Startled, I jump back, lose my balance and fall head first down the side of the five story building. I don’t even have time to register that I should scream. I try to prepare myself for the pain. My head will hit the ground first, so maybe death will come swiftly. Please, please come swiftly.
There is no pain. I feel no pain. Yes! Somehow I must have been knocked unconscious so quickly, the pain never had time to register. I’m dead. I’m dead. I’m dead.”
This book is free 5/16-5/17.

Editor's Note: Relive your first love in this amazing prequel to the Emi Lost and Found series. It will suck you into the story and have you fall in love with these characters.
These characters are so real, and the story so sweet and intimate and absolutely honest, I was completely drawn in.
Book Description: Broken-hearted Nate is a loner in high school. New girl Emi is mad at the world after discovering her father's infidelity. These two fast friends have what it takes for a remarkable romance, but a romance isn't what either needs – yet. This is the prequel to the Emi Lost and Found series.
Readers who love Twilight and Reckless will enjoy NOT TODAY, BUT SOMEDAY.
Author's Inspiration: A bad review actually inspired me to write this. I'd written the Emi Lost & Found series, and someone gave me a low rating because she expected more of a backstory between Emi and Nate. I was motivated to give her that!
Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Robert Pattinson and Emma Stone
From the Book: If I believed in fate and happily ever after and– hell, even love– I might be excited about this. He’s just my type... except for that whole arrogance thing. How does someone like that get to be so cocky, anyway? Sure, he’s cute, but he’s not all that. He’s too skinny to be all that. But his hair is cool... dark brown with reddish highlights. I don’t think that’s his real hair color, though. Hovering over his eyes are brows that were much lighter. The fuzz on his chin is almost blonde, too. And he has nice skin. And that smile. My stomach feels queasy, remembering his smile as I left the art room.
This book is free 5/7 - 5/31.
