Olive Branches Don’t Grow On Trees : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: Blessed be the peacemakers for they shall find peace. Find out if peace can be brought in time for this family reunion.

Olive Branches Don’t Grow On Trees is a story that will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride.

Book Description: After finding herself moving back home, Silvia DeGreco is drafted into helping her mother plan a party for her younger brother’s high school reunion. Getting her feuding Italian-American family together will not be easy as they haven’t been altogether in over 6 years; some members are not speaking to other members; and the parents of this family are newly separated. Getting the gathering to be a peaceful one will also be challenging as most of their past gatherings have been strife-filled. Are Silvia’s well-crafted plans and tireless efforts enough to get them to go to the party? Can she bring them together and save them all?

Fans of Jonathan Franzen and Wally Lamb will enjoy OLIVE BRANCHES DON’T GROW ON TREES.

Author’s Inspiration: My desire to make peace within my own feuding family.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Aubrey Plaza

From the Book: Silvia Greco knew that the silence would not last. There was not enough silence in her world, and there was definitely not enough of it since she had moved into her father’s house in New Jersey. She knew that her father, Frank, had taken a brief break from his current project of searching for a lost frying pan, and that he would be resuming his search any second with the clattering of pots and pans and slamming of cabinet doors. In the very short meantime, she enjoyed the sound of nothing as she sat waiting for her coffee to finish brewing as if it was all she had left in the world.

Grace Mattioli

I’m Grace Mattioli, the author of “Olive Branches Don’t Grow On Trees.” Originally from New Jersey, I currently work as a librarian in San Francisco, where I live with my husband and a bunch of cats. I started writing when I was ten years old. I knew then that I wanted to be a writer; that I wanted to tell stories and make people laugh and cry and think; that I wanted to use words to paint pictures and make music.

In college, I studied English literature, and gravitated towards American contemporary fiction. Some of my favorite and most influential writers include Flannery O’Connor, Ernest Hemingway, Nathanael West, John Kennedy Toole and Edward Abbey. I have taken several writing workshops, including some in fiction writing and screenwriting, and have written several short stories and some flash fiction which can be found on The Short Humour site: www.short-humour.org.uk/. I always dreamed of writing a novel but was not sure I had it in me until recently. I thoroughly enjoyed writing “Olive Branches Don’t Grow On Trees” and I am currently working on the sequel to this novel, “The Discovery Of An Eagle.”

Favorite Food: I have lots of favorite foods, including clams and spaghetti, Three Twins ice cream, organic navel oranges and yams.

Favorite Place to Write: I like to write on my back porch or in my living room with my cats.

Favorite Music: I love lots of music, and some of my favorites are Neil Young, Rolling Stones, REM, Guided by Voices.

Favorite TV Show: I love lots of TV shows, and some favorites include IT Crowd, Portlandia, Game of Thrones.

Foreign Deceit : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: Things are not always what they seem to be, especially in this exciting mystery. You will be captivated by the intrigue and action in this book right up to the very end!

If you’re looking for fast moving, addictive, modern adventure mystery, this read is for you.

Book Description: David Wolf is a small town cop in the mountains of Colorado. His day goes from bad to worse when he gets news that his brother has committed suicide in the Alps of Italy. Something tells him he isn’t getting the whole story, so he must rip himself from pressing matters and travel to a foreign land to honor his brother.

Fans of James Patterson, Lee Child and C.J.Box will love FOREIGN DECEIT.

Author’s Inspiration: I was living in northern Italy, near Lecco (the setting of the book), for a year when I came up with the idea for this book. I wanted an outlet for sharing my experiences and take on the quirky culture of northern Italy, and found a lot of inspiration with local characters and settings in the small town my wife, son and I were living in.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Christian Bale

From the Book: Wolf nodded his head towards the cliff, then concentrated back on his footing, but not before shooting a fast sideways glance to Connell. That’s when Wolf saw it — a thought materializing in Connell’s small brain that had no choice but to be telegraphed through the unconscious movements of his eyes.

Jeff Carson

I recently returned from a year-long stay in Italy, back to my native Colorado home on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Once a blogger, now I write mystery-thrillers that take place in Europe and the Mountain West of America, two places that have shaped who I am.

I became an author long ago, but I was writing the wrong stuff. I was filling web pages with “content” instead of doing what I do now, which is fill pages with stories that move me, and make me grit my teeth, and make me smile with elation.

I enjoy skiing, hiking, playing music, and camping on motorcycle trips. I consider myself a solitary person, so I actually found Italy a trying place to live because of that, and it reflects through in David Wolf’s experience of Italy in the book.

David Wolf is the star and main character of my two books. He’s strong, smart, and good looking, but he has his flaws. He’s also a compassionate man that won’t hesitate to open a can of wallop on someone in the name of justice. If I grew a few inches, learned how to fight, became better looking, smarter, and faster? Then yeah, I guess you could say that David Wolf would be a good representation of the author.

Favorite Food: My favorite food is pizza from anywhere in Italy.

Favorite Place to Write: I’ll often drive somewhere scenic, shut the car off, and write there.

Favorite Music:My favorite music is anything by Pat Metheny

Favorite TV Show: I like to watch nature and science shows if I’m watching television.

How to Buy a Car Or Truck: An Insider’s Guide To Save Thousands of Dollars : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: Looking to buy a new vehicle? Well get this guide before you head out and make sure that you get the right car at the right price!

I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone in the market for a new automobile.

Book Description: HOW TO BUY A CAR OR TRUCK is an informative book that breaks down how to buy a car or truck using language that is easy to understand It also offers brilliant advice, taking the fear and stress out of what is usually a daunting situation. Anything you ever wanted to know about the process is outlined here.

Author’s Inspiration: After spending thirty years in the retail automotive world of sales and management, I wanted to share what I see as a far better way to buy a car or truck. So many methods used by dealers are largely the blame for the bad experiences people have. But people come into the dealerships completely unprepared, as well. With a little homework on the internet, knowing where to look to research the auto they’re considering buying, along with the secrets of how the dealerships operate, it’s possible to save a lot of money!

From the Book: No doubt about it, buying a car or truck can be a bad experience. But why is it so hard to buy a car? Because most people have not yet learned to use all the resources available. They are also unaware of how the car business works.

So what’s the answer? A different approach that uses information found online along with an insider’s view of the car business, which is revealed in this book. If you change the process you use to shop and make a buying decision you will know what awaits you when you go in to test drive and buy a car. Your expectations will be based on the knowledge you’ve gained. When you go into a dealership potential stress turns into excitement the way the car buying process can be.

Editor’s Note: Planning a trip to Rome? Thinking about it? Well make that trip truly memorable by getting this informative and comprehensive guide to this amazing city. We can smell the espresso from here!

I highly recommend this book as a travel guide. It’s a must have when you’re going to or planning to go to Rome.

Book Description: Rome is beautiful, rich in culture, art and history, colorful and full of life. Some even call it the most desirable and liveable of the world’s capitals. “The Eternal City” offers you famous historical monuments and ruins, ornate and majestic churches and priceless artwork. Life in Rome rightfully is called La Dolce Vita.

There are so may things to see in Rome a lifetime certainly isn’t enough. However, for a start, we have provided a list of 31 of the most important places to see to get you started.

Author’s Inspiration: The city of Rome itself and her experience from living there.

From the Book: Indeed, the foundation laid by the ancient Romans was so ingenious that most of that original and very logical infrastructure remains in use today, the old roads simply repaved and modernized. Rome functions amazingly well as a city and its center is quite safe, (although one always needs to take the necessary precautions of avoiding pickpockets and shady areas as one would in any city).

Rome is convenient, with excellent transportation (don’t be afraid to take the Metro!). And if you find on your visit you need a direction do not hesitate to ask for assistance. Warm, charming, ever helpful Romans will be quick to lend you a hand and a smile. And if you don’t speak Italian don’t fret – Italians are master communicators.

A city fill of life, exceptional beauty, exciting energy and internal and external sunshine, Rome is one of the best places I have lived. I always miss it. You will love it.

The Village Idiot Reviews : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: Here’s a hilarious laugh out loud book that had us rolling out of our chairs. Be careful when you read this book as it will leave you in stitches!

This is a really original and very funny book.

Book Description: THE VILLAGE IDIOT REVIEWS is a book about a small Village containing, you guessed it, Idiots. All out to either make each others lives a little bit worse or to try and find a life partner. Written entirely in the form of amazon product reviews this is something that hasn’t been done before. A laugh out loud british comedy.

Fans of Nick Spalding and David Jester will love THE VILLAGE IDIOT REVIEWS.

Author’s Inspiration: I wanted to make myself and my friends laugh with funny reviews. Then I started linking them up and intertwining them and I ended up with a book.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Dudley Moore, thirty years ago.

From the Book: A REVIEW FOR A PAIR OF UNDERPANTS

A sturdy hold, but I think there was something up with the material.

Living alone, I need to keep a substantial number of Y-fronts at any one time. This is due to how far away my mother lives away and not owning a washing machine myself. A couple of these three packs were perfect for my needs.

I must say as I pulled on a fresh pair on the day of delivery, I instantly noticed how supporting they were of little Frank and his two pet bulldogs. They were a very soft feel and made me feel all warm and tingly. Not like some pairs I’ve owned that made poor Frank feel like he was being kettled during a peaceful protest turned bad.

Pete Sortwell

Pete is 32 and lives with his wife, Lucie, and their pet sofa, Jeff. He’s been writing for just under three years and they’ve been pretty eventful; well, more eventful than he thought sitting on Jeff, typing, would be, anyway.

First published in the Radgepacket anthology with a story he’d written during month five of his new hobby, Pete’s now featured in a total of ten different anthologies and has been amongst some very fine company. (Although I’ve been the best in all of them, I know that because both my Mum and Jeff told me and they’re both honest-to-God Christians … possibly.)

Favorite Food: Cheese, of all descriptions. Except the stuff with holes in, but no one likes that.  Favorite Place to Write: Sitting on Jeff, my sofa.

Favorite Music to Listen to: A chap called Maps. check him out it’s great music.

Favorite TV Show: anything funnier than me. It’s a wide spectrum.
