Editor’s Note: Flying Soup is like the Daily Show with John Stewart – full of witty satire on politics and religion that is sure to make you laugh!
I love how this book sucked me into it in the first page.
Book Description: FLYING SOUP satirically follows the story of three budding internet entrepreneurs thrust into a political and religious controversy by the content on their website. A televangelist, a mega-church preacher, politicians, techies, and a host of unsavory characters and find entertaining ways to screw up their lives as they race toward a surprising and violent conclusion.
Readers who liked The Bonfire of the Vanities, A Man in Full, and Jailbird will enjoy FLYING SOUP.
Author’s Inspiration: Oddly, the inspiration from the book came from two actual events. The first was the minor bicycle accident described at the beginning of the book. The second was an teenage employee I had some years ago who described to me a joy riding hobby he and his friends had of raiding their mothers’ pantries for canned goods, then throwing them of of their car at pedestrians.
Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Justin Timberlake
From the Book: “Hoffman, I waited for those men to come to my house, and they did. I sat on my couch with the gun in my hand. I didn’t check to see if it was clean. I didn’t check to see if it was loaded. Another man might say I was stupid for doing that, but another man wouldn’t know it was Jesus’ pistol. I had faith, you see. When those other men came, I shot them down like dogs and then I buried their bodies in the desert, where they’d never be found again.”

Editor’s Note: This intense chilling tale will have you sleeping with the lights on!
The story captured me immediately and kept me turning the pages.
Book Description: A serial killer stalking on one of his “runarounds” has come to rural south Georgia. Expert , like any predator, at selecting the weak and vulnerable he identifies young Lyn as his next victim. The hunt is on as George Mackey and his GBI counterparts track the killer across the Georgia landscape. The only question is, will the find him in time?
Fans of James Patterson, Elmore Leonard, and John Grisham will like EYES OF THE PREDATOR : THE PICKHAM COUNTY MURDERS.
Author’s Inspiration: The Hunters Series deals with the various motivations for murder. ‘Eyes of the Predator’ focuses on the predatory nature of serial killers and the psychology of predator and prey. The seed for the book was planted when I was fourteen years old by the abduction of a young newlywed at a local mall in 1965 Atlanta. Subsequently, I became a police officer in the Atlanta area and was exposed in a very real way to the victims of various types of abuse, as well as the abusers.
Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Billy Bob Thornton as Leyland Torkman. Kevin Costner as George Mackey.
From the Book: He waited patiently, a lion in the grass at the edge of the herd. The herd grazed and moved around him and copulated and birthed and played and fought, and was completely unaware of his presence.
When the moment came, he would spring into relentless, merciless, brutal action. He would be filled. For his prey, it would be terrible.

Editor’s Note: Most people would think that being a mythical god/goddess would be a wonderful thing, but even the gods had family drama.
Such an amazing story! I felt like I was on the adventure of a lifetime!
Book Description: Mythology and contemporary life collide when a woman discovers that she is the latest embodiment of a goddess who escaped from the underworld centuries ago. Hades sill hunts for her but times have changed and she’s done running.
Fans of Stephanie Meyer, Rick Riordan, and Diana Gabaldon will enjoy Eleusis.
Author’s Inspiration: I was disappointed with the powerlessness that described Persephone when she was abducted by Hades in the original Persephone mythology. This is a reimagination of this mythology. The positive change in attitude towards I have witnessed towards women in the last 25years in society….and two hundred beautiful acres in South Carolina bordering a large lake that has seen the history of America unfold from the Native Americans to the early colonists and slaves up to the present day.
Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Teresa Palmer
From the Book: High above them on the wooded hillside, the seeker scrambled to its feet, tense and alert. The wind ruffled its black fur. It stretched stiffly. Something was different. It sniffed the air again to be sure. It had been here so long, its purpose almost forgotten, but the scent, stronger now, stirred the creature, and it quivered with excitement. A low growl rumbled in its chest. Eager to alert the collector, it turned and quietly picked its way along the path through the trees to the opening in the rocks. It paused one last time to taste the air swirling up from the falls, then ducked its shaggy head through the entrance, shifted its shape, and slipped through the opening in the earth. The seeker was positive. The memory, although old, was strong.
She was back.

Editor’s Note: Your heart will soar with this high flying romance. Being stranded on an island was never so exciting.
This book just grips you from page one. Just make sure you have plenty of time to read because when you start you won’t be able to put it down.
Book Description: When a flight crashes into the idyllic island of Samoa, it’s anything but relaxing. Fraught with male egos, dancing, and secrets, both Nina and Liam aren’t ready for what fate has in store. Coffee and Cockpits is a hot contemporary romance with a few twists.
Readers who enjoy On the Island, The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, and The Notebook will like COFFEE AND COCKPITS.
Author’s Inspiration: My inspiration was my own past of being a flight attendant and the intrigues that went with the career.
From the Book: Screw dinner. All I wanted was to be alone with her. My breath caught as Nina swayed in to kiss me. I dropped to my knees. I seemed to like this position around her. “What on earth are you doing down there?” Nina asked, eyes hot with temptation. “Helping you out of your high heels.” I lifted her foot to rest on my bent knee. She moaned as my fingers caressed her ankle, reaching for the tiny strap. Her hands latched onto my shoulders, keeping steady as I unraveled the securing from her foot and slipped off the shoe. I coaxed her to lift the next foot, and her head fell forward as I ran a hand up the length of her calf and pressed in the hollow of her knee, rubbing circles, hoping it resonated elsewhere.

Editor’s Note: Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.
The time you spend reading The Cure will be time well spent.
Book Description: Riley Keep, a former missionary, now a drunk, is begging on the streets and desperate to forget a past he lost in one far-flung act of wickedness. Riley will learn if it’s true what people say: sometimes The Cure is much worse than the disease.
Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Robert Duvall
From the Book: Riley Keep returned to the scene of his disgrace in the back of a northbound pickup truck with New Brunswick plates. It was late October or maybe early November; all Riley knew for sure was that the leaves were mostly down, it was already wicked cold, and his old friend Brice was shivering so badly it took a while to get him over the tailgate. The Canadian behind the wheel spun his tires getting back onto Route 1, spraying them with gravel. Riley figured the man was mad because he and Brice had moved so slowly, or maybe because of what they were.
