Editor’s Note: This is a dark fantasy novel that harkens to the gore and spectacle of King’s Carrie. It’s sure to make you shudder.
“This was a well-written and absorbing story.”
Book Description: Jenny Morton is an eighteen-year-old girl with a curse–her touch spreads a horrific supernatural plague, leaving death in her wake. She avoids all contact with others until she learns that others in her town also possess secret powers of their own.
Those who enjoyed Firestarter and Carrie will enjoy Jenny Pox.
Author’s Inspiration: I wanted to explore the isolation of a girl who could not touch others without bringing carnage.
Editor’s Note: In FAMILY MAGIC, her mom’s a witch, her dad’s a demon, and she craves the ordinary.
“So worth the read, and so worth downloading all 4 books to read them! ”
Book Description: As if high school wasn’t hard enough, Sydlynn Hayle has to deal with being being the right kind of witch to please her coven, learning to fit in in a new town, AND trying to ward off bully cheerleader who clearly despises her. And, when the boyfriend of this cheerleader starts to show an interest in Sydlynn? As if life wasn’t difficult enough already! Learning to balance the demands of being just a regular girl with the demands of her coven proves to be quite the challenge and ends up teaching Sydlynn more about herself than she ever thought possible.
Author’s Inspiration: The main character woke me in the middle of the night and hasn’t stopped talking since.

I’ve been writing romance for years (over 15 million sold!) and it just gets better all the time! Finding ways to tell the stories of people falling in love is an affirmation of life itself. Hopefully, these stories might play a tiny part in encouraging others to reach out and find the person of their dreams. Life is happier when love enters the scene.
Editor’s Note: GATEWAY TO NIFLEHEIM is an epic fantasy featuring complex characters and plenty of action that will keep you flipping the pages!
Book Description:While investigating a mysterious fog and otherworldly howling, Claradon’s father, the lord of Dor Eotrus, went missing, along with all his men, heroes all. Now it’s up to Claradon to take up the banner of his noble house and hold back a tide of darkness that threatens to overrun Midgaard and destroy all that he holds dear.
Author’s Inspiration: In life, most villains think they’re the good guys. They don’t see the evil that they do. They only know that their ends justify their means. But in fantasy stories, all too often, the bad guys wear the black hats, the good guys, the white. The grey, though, that’s where the fun is. That’s where the real characters live; not the cartoon cutouts. They’re the ones that you’ll never forget. Providing that to my readers, coupled with action scenes that are tactically sound and believable (at least within the context of a fantasy world!), is what I offer in the Harbinger of Doom series.

I’ve done lots of things. I’ve gotten degrees and taken advanced courses in various fields: physics, engineering, religious studies, history. I’ve taught college courses, been a physicist, a licensed professional engineer, and I’ve investigated some of the most complex and high profile engineering disasters of the last twenty years. After reading the battle scenes in my books, some of my readers have asked me whether I also used to be a spy or a Special Forces operative. I can’t comment on that, I tell them. All my life, for fun, I’ve written fantasy stories. I started writing them before I did any of the things I mentioned above, and I’ll probably keep writing them for as long as I’m around.
Editor’s Note: In ELSEERIAN the ultimate assassin carries another title, forerunner. This is a perfect read for fantasy fans everywhere!
Book Description: The assassination of heroes was once a warning . . . for an invasion that nearly destroyed the world. On the brink of total victory, the black horde mysteriously vanished. As the centuries passed, the holocaust faded into legend, and finally myth. But death is stalking heroes once more, and only a miracle will allow life to survive again, a miracle named Elseerian.
Author’s Inspiration: Everything from books, to movies, and even video games have inspired my works. A large reason for my initial book was because I wanted to give a “clean” fantasy novel to my children. One with plenty of action but no language or gore.

My first three books began as a story when I was twelve. Over the next fifteen years I added more pieces to the tale, but I never intended to write them. By the time I did it was like a movie I had seen a hundred times. I knew characters, events, and major plot twists. It allowed me to write the individual books with subtle threads that I knew would come together later. Today I count myself fortunate to be able to write full time, and can’t wait to release the numerous stories that are currently in the works.
Editor’s Note: Lively and sexy, MYRIAH FIRE gives readers a look into the wild side of the regency era.
Claudy Conn has a way of transporting you through time to another world!
Book Description: Myriah doesn’t want to fit into the role of a staid young miss. Her father decides she is too wild for her own good and decides to marry her off. She runs. On the way to her grandfather’s protection, she comes across a young man who has been shot and left to die. She and her groom manage to get him to his home and she meets his brother Kit Wimborne and sparks begin to fly!
Author’s Inspiration: I love the regency period and wanted to portray a more realistic version of it. Many readers see the era that Jane Austin wrote about as staid and it wasn’t. Regency times were hedonistic. Women were beginning to revolt against their constraints…hence female writers like Jane Austin! I like a heroine that breaks out of the mold and that is what my heroines do…

Imagination. It travels with me and works its way from my brain into my fingers. I see a story everywhere I go.
Editor’s Note: A SHADOW IN THE FLAMES is a near-future sci-fi thriller.
“I really enjoyed this book from start to finish! The characters and their story came alive for me and I was intrigued by the plot and its progression.”
Book Description: There is more behind the fire that took his home than Michael Flynn would ever suspect, and more darkness in his only friend than he could ever admit to himself. Now, three nights tracking a cybernetic vigilante will alter his life forever. As a discovery on the Moon promises to change the future of the world, a conspiracy of light seeking to shape that change has its eyes on Michael…
My epiphany moment came when I was 19 and escaping from a bad situation into a book. I decided that I wanted to give others the same enjoyment and comfort with my own stories that the author I was reading had given to me. I write to entertain, to provoke thought, to open minds, and to tug at the imagination.
Editor’s Note: If Buffy and X-Files had a child, WEAVER would be it.
Book Description: A high-school girl meets the boy of her dreams–except that the dream is of him killing her! From there, she’s drawn into a web of conspiracy and intrigue in which no one and nothing are what they seem–not even those closest to her.
Author’s Inspiration: Two things inspired me to write this book. One was my growing annoyance with the number of love interests in YA fiction who display borderline abusive behavior. I wanted to tell a story where the attractive monsters were still monsters.
Two, one of my close friends has very vivid college dreams. She used to regale us with the stories every morning. So I thought, “What if there was a girl who had the dreams… and then they came true?” Thus was born Weaver.

I’m a long, tall Texan (sorry, Lyle Lovett). I subsist on caffeine (way too much of it), Joss Whedon shows (way too many of them), video games, politics, and other stuff. I use a lot of parentheses in my bios (as you’re finding out). Why should you read my books? Because they’re scary things that also have a sense of humor. Because the characters do fun things like ride werewolves and wield acetylene torches. Because I don’t use this many parentheses in my books (really, I promise).
Two of J.S. Scott’s books are Amazon’s bestselling books of 2013 (#18 & #85) and she is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of erotic romance. She’s an avid reader of all types of books and literature. Writing what she loves to read, J.S. Scott writes both contemporary erotic romance stories and paranormal romance erotics. They almost always feature an Alpha Male and have a happily ever after because she just can’t seem to write them any other way!
