My Ex From Hell (The Blooming Goddess Trilogy) : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: We’ve always thought that our exes are from hell, but in this humorous story he really is from the netherworld!

This is one of those young adult novels that takes you by surprise the instant you start reading, and holds your interest until the very end.

Book Description:  Young Sophie figures her worst problems involve adolescent theatrics, bitchy yoga girls, and being on probation at her boarding school for mouthy behaviour. At the Halloween dance, she meets bad boy Kai and gets the kiss that rocks her world. Literally. It unlocks Sophie’s true identity: Persephone, Goddess of Spring. It is up to her to save humanity in midst of the struggle between Olympus and the underworld.

Those who enjoyed The Goddess Test and Mythos Academy will like MY EX FROM HELL.

Author’s Inspiration:  I’ve always loved the drama of Greek mythology and stories with fresh takes on them. After my first novel Sam Cruz’s Infallible Guide to Getting Girls, which was a flat out romantic comedy suitable for the older end of the YA readership, my tween daughter told me I better write a book she was allowed to read. Since she loves adventures and mythology, it seemed like the perfect time to tell this story.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Tom Sturridge

From the Book: “You’re not my girlfriend,” he replied.

“No kidding. Since I’m breaking up with you on behalf of Persephone. There. Now you’re my ex.”

Theo shook his head. “Here we go again,” he muttered.

Kai stepped in close to me. “You think because you have her powers, you’re her?” He laughed, mirthlessly. “You don’t have the faintest clue.”

“Fact. I don’t need my memories back to know how much I dislike you. Some things are just bone deep,” I shot back.

“Fact,” Kai mimicked, “if I’d murdered you, I’d have stuck around to make sure I did the job properly the first time. Although practice makes perfect.”

“You guys are better than cable,” Hannah exclaimed, entranced.

Tellulah Darling

1. YA Novelist

2. Alter ego of former screenwriter and instructor

3. Sassy minx

Geeks out over: cool tech.

Squees for: great storytelling.

Delights in: fabulous conversation.

Writes about: where love meets comedy, flavored with pop culture. Awkwardnes

In the geek vs nerd breakdown, I fall on the geek side of things. I think nerds are slightly smarter but I have better social skills. Plus I know my library card number by heart. Although not sure where that takes the argument.

The Remortal : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: THE REMORTAL is a culturally diverse urban fantasy – think Highlander meets Training Day.

It’s a smart read with good imagination for explosions and devious but concerned undying beings.

Book Description: Telly is a homeless kid with not much going for him until he meets a charming and mysterious man named Van. Van reveals that he is actually an immortal, with abilities and wealth beyond Telly’s wildest dreams. Van offers Telly the chance to inherit his powers and his fortune if Telly can just do one thing: find a way to kill him.

Those who enjoy Corey Doctorow, Dean Koontz, and Interview with the Vampire will like THE REMORTAL.

Author’s Inspiration:  I’ve always been intrigued by the concept of “mentorship gone bad”, and I also like exploring concepts of death and what may exist beyond death (if anything). I combined the two interests and came up with a story about the cruel tutelage of an immortal who isn’t too happy about the idea of eternal life, and who believes that the most important lessons are learned through pain.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Josh Hutcherson

Ramsey Isler

For much of my life, I was one of those quirky folk known as a “coder”. I wrote computer code, not stories. I was fairly successful at it, and I had a lot of fun doing it. But my true passion was writing books and stories that would inspire and ignite the light of creativity in others, just as my favorite storytellers had inspired me in my youth. I’m still in the early phases of my journey as an author, but it has been quite an adventure so far.

My favorite things include Japanese food, gadgets, comics, and cats.
