I just finish reading the last page and was sad to have it end.

Book Description: Victory Winters possesses an unusual innate sense of communication, boarding on telepathic when relating to animals. This unique ability has elevated her status to world renowned genetic research specialist. She is blackmailed with threats to her family, forcing her to work for a rival corporation, Biotec and run by a madman CEO.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Kate Walsh

From the Book: Victory turned around and headed back toward the compound. She would pick up her pace and be back in time for dinner. In mid-stride she froze. The same group of goats was heading away from her and she gauged them to be approximately three hundred yards from her. There it was again, she wasn’t merely imagining it, utter panic engulfed the group. Goose bumps rose on her arms; this wasn’t about the storm, something menacing was entering the area. Before she realized what she was doing she dropped down to the forest floor, trying to camouflage herself against a large tree dripping in moss. She slowed her breathing and listened to the animals. A threat. Whatever was coming was a threat and she was right in its path.

Joanne Jaytanie

I was born and raised in Sherburne, New York, a small village surrounded by dairy farms and rolling hills, and a wonderful place to grow up and call my hometown.

From a young age I was in love with stories; reading stories, writing stories, or day dreaming about stories. I wanted travel and leave my small world behind. During my college years I slowly crept across the country. I found my true-love and put down new roots in Washington State.

I have trained, shown and bred Dobermans for over 30 years, they are truly part of my family. Our favorite thing to do is to pack up our dobermans, hook up the travel-trailer and explore.

Favorite Food: My favorite food is a great burrito. Didn’t even know what one was until I spent some time in Oklahoma in my mid-twenties.

Favorite Place to Write: I love writing in my office. Not original I know, but I will never tire of my panoramic view of the Olympic Mountains.

Favorite Music: I love music. Phil Collins, Maroon 5, Enya, Eagles, Jazz, Country, Classical. It all depends on my mood and what I am doing.

Black Hull: Episode 1 : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: Michael Crichton meets outer space in this science fiction adventure. It’s sure to have you on the edge of your seat with all the action and suspense!

This story grabs you quick and has a rapid pace!

Book Description: Black Hull is a lost-in-spacetime thriller, with strong elements of suspense and mystery. Mick’s story is twined with romance and hope, desperation and violence. Can one man return from the greatest distance of spacetime to see his wife and children one last time?

Fans of Michael Crichton, Dan Brown, and Ken Follett will enjoy BLACK HULL.

Author’s Inspiration: Black Hull is inspired by the vision of a man who seeks to mend the greatest possible separation from his family–they are separated by time, space, and the mistakes that can only be recognized in hindsight. I sought to capture the essence of a man who wanted to find a way to go back and make things right before they ever went wrong.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Russell Crowe

From the Book: He left the porthole, the sight of the gentler black, returning to the metal dark of the pod interior. It smelled like detergent.

A clean black hull pod. A clean grave.

He closed his eyes.

I love you boys. I love you Karen. I love you guys. I’ll miss you, too. A lot. Please don’t forget I loved you, even though I fucked it up. I’ll always love you.

A tiny noise broke the silence: ILS clicked on, its humming enough to subdue the siren in Mick’s head.

Joseph Turkot

I graduated from Rutgers University and teach English. I write adventurous tales that spark the imagination to life, and flits between genre to experience the wide range of human creativity and experience. I have always had stories to tell, and now, with some maturity, I can express them elegantly in writing.

I write on my computer in my office where I also record music and work on art and film editing. I write philosophy, love literature, and love board games. I would rather play a board game than watch a TV show, and I would rather be writing than playing a video game.

The Jacobs Project: In Search of Pinocchio : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: When it comes to creating new technologies it’s not always a question of if we can but rather a question of should we?

It’s well-written with interesting characters that sparked my interest, and made me turn the pages.

Book Description: The mid 22nd century. It is in many respects a world we would recognize. Like our own, it’s a world with instantaneous, worldwide communications, computers of ever increasing sophistication and permanent human occupancy of outer space. But it is also a very different world—a world where the riddle of “artificial intelligence” has been solved and our intelligent creations live amongst us… And that’s the problem.

Fans of Phillip K. Dick will enjoy THE JACOBS PROJECT: IN SEARCH OF PINOCCHIO part of the Symbiosis series.

From the Book: Irwin Jacobs, renowned cyberneticist, waited impatiently for neurologist Tom Wilson’s answer. “Well?”

Tall and impeccably dressed, Wilson shook his head emphatically. “They’ll absolutely tear you to pieces, Irwin.”

“They’ll have to catch me first.”

The neurologist cast a dubious glance at his squat, balding and rumpled friend. “Well, that should take all of three seconds,” he said, laughing.

“Never mind. What I want to know is whether you’ll join me or not. You’re the best brain man in the business, and I could sure use your help. It’ll be one hell of a journey.”

“Oh, I’m sure it will be—straight into professional obscurity. I just don’t understand why you’re going down this path. It’s not as if no one has ever experimented with neural arrays before.”

“Ah, but no one else has seen their full potential,” Jacobs countered. “Annnd, no one else has ever built an organic array.”

IXEOS (The Ixeos Trilogy) : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: Transport yourself to a futuristic world with this thrilling novel!

IXEOS is a thrill packed ride from beginning to end!

Book Description: Teenagers from our earth are brought to Ixeos, an alternate earth that has been taken over by humanoid aliens. While most have been killed, the remaining humans have been enslaved or live as fugitives on the largely desolate planet. Can the outsiders free the rebel leader Darian and rescue the human race before they are destroyed?

Those who enjoyed The Hunger Games, Lord of the Rings, and The Chronicles of Narina will enjoy IXEOS.

Author’s Inspiration:  There were two – I read a National Geographic article on the almost-200 miles of tunnels under Paris, and found it fascinating. I knew that would be in a story one day. Secondly, my daughter and I encountered, then lost, a flock of ducks on a kayak outing last summer. We started texting each other crazy stories about “where the ducks went.” I finally put the two together, and the foundation of IXEOS was born!

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Logan Lerman (Marty), Liam Hemsworth (Clay), Jennifer Lawrence (Neahle)

From the Book: They walked the next half hour in silence, unwilling to ask any more questions for which “it’s complicated” was the answer. And they were all mulling over the crazy idea that they were in Paris, France, only not their Paris, France, with people who said they’d followed ducks to another world or dimension years before. They would write these two strangers off as crazy except that here they were, walking down a convoluted succession of tunnels, striding through open rooms with graffiti-painted walls, scooting around reservoirs full of dark water, being led by those strangers who were carrying torches and who seemed to know exactly where they were going.

Jennings Wright

Jennings grew up in a small Florida town, spending hours running along the Indian River being chased by pirates, turning into a mermaid, and generally causing inciting imaginary mayhem. Much later, after being a wife, mom, business owner, and non-profit founder, she rediscovered the joys of imaginary mayhem and hasn’t stopped since. She’s published four books to date, with many more on the drawing board. All her stories start with interesting locations and fun facts, and she doesn’t worry about genre til she’s done. When she’s not writing or editing, she’s usually hanging out with her family, doing anything on the water, or traveling.

Favorite Food: Sushi is my favorite food, and the only one I crave when I’m traveling places you don’t want to eat sushi (like Africa).

Favorite Place to Write: I generally write in our sunroom or my office, but when the weather is nice, I love to be outside.

Favorite Music: I don’t listen to music while I write, and my tastes are very eclectic, from Jimmy Buffett (the Florida girl in me) to Black Eyed Peas.

Favorite TV show: I usually watch either police procedural shows (Castle, NCIS, The Mentalist, Bones) or Food Network shows like Chopped, although I like Frasier, M*A*S*H and Seinfeld, too.

The Tower of Babel (Vaulan Cycle) : Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: THE TOWER OF BABEL is part political thriller, part apocrypha, part Little Shop of Horrors, and all of an excellent read!

Quite a literary triumph in my opinion!

Book Description: Austin Feckidee is just trying to make it as a sculptor. He’s NOT trying to get back together with Stella, his old never-quite flame who insisted on changing the world; and he’s NOT taking up her insane, grandiose vision again. Really, he’s not…

Those who enjoyed That Hideous Strengt, A Wrinkle in Time, and Idoru will enjoy THE TOWER OF BABEL.

Author’s Inspiration:  College, and the resultant exposure to the tree-hugging side of things, got me thinking about the battle between man’s mechanized world and our planet’s organic processes. I started fantasizing about a world in which a malevolent vine destroyed a modern-day skyscraper called the Tower of Babel. Once the symbolism was in place, the tension of the story flowed naturally, as I have always felt angry when I see Nature destroyed to make way for another shopping mall.

Actor Who Would Play the Main Character: Joaquin Phoenix

From the Book: Stella led Austin to the narthex and the front of the church. Dark faux paneling and shadowy coats on hangers repelled the light that poured in through the great oaken double doors. A world of white sunshine blazed out there, excluded from the dark church, chiseling Stella’s potted plants in black silhouette.

“I like seeing the green reclaiming this place.” She watered the plants patiently. “Even stained glass windows don’t last forever. It just goes to show you that divinity is looking elsewhere.”

“How do we get it to look here again?”

She frowned at him. “That’s not what I meant.”

G.T. Anders

When I was 12, I saw the cover of Madaleine L’Engle’s book A Wrinkle in Time. I didn’t even have to read it to know that my writing had to change, NOW. I had been working on stories about sparrows; good stuff, for sure–I’m still pretty fond of it–but it didn’t have the depth of terror, the clout of dangerous universes that I saw in that cover. From then on, I knew that my life’s work would be writing novels about people who were fighting the darkness, whatever that meant.

Favorite Food: Spaghetti and meatballs has been faithful to me my whole life. It’s not that we never went through tough times; but the recent introduction of homemade pasta to my experience has led me back to the depths that attracted me from the first.

Favorite Place to Write: My favorite place to write is in my room away from all distractions, or out off the beaten path by a local lake–again, away from all distractions.
