The Infernal Detective: Free For Kindle

Editor’s Note: THE INFERNAL DETECTIVE is a paranormal mystery where magic lies just beyond the veil.

She kept it fun, interesting, suspenseful, and FRESH.

Book Description: It’s a week before Riga Hayworth’s wedding to casino owner, Donovan Mosse, and her metaphysical detective skills are about to be put to the test. A body in the bedroom, a missing fiancee, and a duo of ditzy aunts have Riga running in circles. And when Riga smells necromancy… all bets are off.

Author’s Inspiration: Arsenic and Old Lace.

From Book:  Riga checked her watch. It was thirteen o’clock, and her feet hurt.    She’d never liked high heels, shouldn’t have worn the over-priced, strappy black pumps. Riga had been almost relieved when one of the heels snapped, relieved for the excuse to slip upstairs, relieved to escape.

I worked overseas for nearly fourteen years, in the fringes of the former USSR and deep in the Afghan war zone. And after learning to love my inner Walter Mitty, I became a mystery author, and have published four novels under the misterio press imprint.  I’ve never met a dessert I didn’t like, and my guilty pleasures are watching Ghost Whisperer reruns and drinking good wine.

On The Edge of Humanity: Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: YA readers: Are you ready for an action packed vampire novel with Navy SEALS? ON THE EDGE OF HUMANITY is here! This is not your mother’s vampire novel.

On the Edge of Humanity is far from ‘yet another vampire novel’.

Book Description: Sixteen-year-old Jo Mason learns she carries a dormant vampire gene on the same day an evil cartel kidnaps her twin brother. A secret vampire SEAL team can save him—if she becomes a bloodsucker, too.

Those who enjoy Amanda Hocking and Rachel Caine, will like ON THE EDGE OF HUMANITY.

Author’s Inspiration:  First, I love character driven books and I wanted to impart my imagination to a character that starts out struggling in life. Two, I love the fantasy world paralleled with the real world and how the two intertwine. Finally, I take great pride in my military service and I wanted to bring that aspect into the story.

S. B. Alexander

I love to transport myself into other worlds—ones where vampires and the fantastical exist. Where life is the playground for the impossible. I created fantasy worlds at a young age as a way to deal with life. Yep, I had imaginary friends and talked to myself a lot. I was always creating, thinking, drawing and writing. I believe words are the key to opening the door to extraordinary places with amazing characters that tell a great story.

When I’m not working my full time job, and plotting Jo’s next challenge, I love to play golf with my husband, and spend time with my two dogs.

Rise of the Fallen: Free eBook for Kindle

Editor’s Note: RISE OF THE FALLEN is a dark, sexy, USA Today Recommended Read and eLit Award winner.

I really enjoyed the story and I loved the secondary characters as well.

Book Description:  Micah Black is a vampire in trouble. He’s lost his second mate and wants to die, having barely survived the death of his first mate centuries ago. After striking a deal with his sworn enemy to kill him, an unlikely heroine, a stripper named Samantha, interferes and saves him…and steals Micah’s heart. Now Micah must survive and find a way to protect Sam from an enemy who will do anything to finish what he started.

Author’s InspirationRise of the Fallen was inspired by my love of vampires, my desire to bring a different type of vampire species to readers, as well as my own life. Micah’s life resembled where I was emotionally at the time, and writing his story was therapeutic in lifting myself into a better place.

The Portal’s Choice: Free Kindle Book

Editor’s Note: THE PORTAL’S CHOICE is about finding the inner courage to be your best.

The plot is riveting, the characters are intriguing, and the writing is phenomenal.

Book Description:  Tallis Challinor has a problem. She has been made a temporary gatekeeper of the portal between the spirit realm and the human realm that happens to be located in her basement. Along with her title comes the task of returning a bunch of escaped spirits with bad attitudes back through the portal. Otherwise, the spiteful ghouls will continue to torment the residents of small town Landry, New Hampshire where Tallis, the new kid in town, would simply like to fit in, not be the resident ghost buster. With the help of some new friends, and her cute neighbor, Aiden, Tallis has to figure out how to get her job done and her life back to normal.

Readers who enjoy The Mortal Instrument Series by Cassandra Clare will enjoy THE PORTAL’S CHOICE

Author’s Inspiration: I was in the middle of writing another book when I drove by an old graveyard late one June afternoon. The cemetery was next to an old house and something about the way the light hit them made me wonder about a connection between the basement of the house and the graveyard next door. I figured out that connection, a portal between the human and spirit worlds, and realized that my protagonist was a teenage girl.

THE PORTAL’S CHOICE will be free 7/18-7/19

KD Pryor

Here are some things about me that influence my books.

1. I love chocolate. It ought to be a food group. Truly.

2. I love to travel. I want to see the entire world. But crazy stuff like dental appointments, kids’ school schedules and my husband’s job get in the way. (I keep working on it.)

3. My family lived in Bangalore, India for four years. It was amazing. I love India.

4. I am a former lawyer and a current yoga teacher.

5. It is important to have courage and to live life courageously; doing what is right, not necessarily easy. It takes courage to write books and it isn’t always easy, but I love doing it.

6. I definitely believe in ghosts.
